Hong Kong Airport Terminal 2

Hong Kong Airport Terminal 2 is a really particular one.

[UPDATE: Terminal 2 is currently closed for renovation works of the runway and Terminal 2 facilities. Will reopen at 2024, after the expansion and Terminal 2 will have arrivals and departures. All check-in area have been replaced to Terminal 1]

It serves mostly low cost airlines and only does check-in. 

The Terminal only serves as check-in and processing facility for all the passengers. For boarding, passengers are transported by underground APM cars to T1. 

Inside T2 there is the SkyPlaza, a mall that offers shops and restaurants. It also houses the bus station that connects to mainland China. 

TRANSFER BETWEEN TERMINALS

The Automated People Mover takes passengers between Terminal 1, Midfield Concourse, SkyPier, and Terminal 2.

This electric train system carries about 7,200 passengers per hour and departs every few minutes.

Terminal 2 to Terminal 1: 06:30 – 01:00.

Levels

The building has 6 floors: 

Level 6

Access to Airport Express Rail platform.

Food Court area and several shops and services such as ATMs, baby care facilities, among others. 

Level 5

Skyplaza mall.

Level 4

This is the Skypier, where the duty free area is located among other services.  

Level 3

Immigration, several concessions and amenities. Access to Bus Station. 

Level 1

Several amenities such as toilets.   

The other levels serve as airlines offices.
